NBM representatives ready to award silver striker's women's team

Silver Strikers Ladies were crowned champions of the NBM Women’s Premiership after a thrilling final played at Silver Stadium. The victory marked a historic moment for women’s football in Malawi, as it was the first time the country hosted a national women’s football tournament.

The colourful event was attended by several important guests, including the Minister of Sports, Hon. Patricia Wiskes, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) President Fleetwood Haiya, National Bank of Malawi Chief Finance Officer Daniel Jere, and the bank’s Marketing and Corporate Affairs Manager, Akossa Hilwa.

National Bank of Malawi, the main sponsor of the tournament, praised the growth of women’s football and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the game. The bank said the competition aims to encourage young girls to take part in football and follow their dreams.

The successful hosting of the NBM Women’s Premiership has brought hope and motivation to many female players across the country, showing that women’s football in Malawi has a bright future.
