Blantyre Derby Generates K90.8 Million as Wanderers and Bullets Share K18 Million Each

 

Fans filled Bingu National stadium to watch the highly anticipated Blantyre derby

The highly anticipated Blantyre Derby between Mighty Wanderers FC and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets generated K90.8 million during their clash at Bingu National Stadium.

According to Super League of Malawi treasurer Allie Mwachande, each club received K18 million from the revenue collected during the match.

Mwachande also revealed that the league had expected to raise more than K150 million due to the massive turnout that watched the encounter in Lilongwe.

The derby attracted thousands of football fans, highlighting the growing commercial strength and popularity of Malawi’s biggest football rivalry.
