Canada nearly completed the comeback in stoppage time, only for Bosnian defender Tarik Muharemović to make a crucial block that preserved a 1-1 draw.

While the United States left its opener with three points and a statement victory, Canada left with something equally important: its first-ever point at a FIFA World Cup and renewed belief ahead of a crucial clash against Qatar national football team.
